A long-time online friend commissioned me to draw Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 2! Learning how to draw this character was a tricky process, but after a handful of sketches later I managed to learn how his body is formed. Surprisingly, the biggest challenge I had to overcome was how his body, despite the name- did not closely resemble a snake whatsoever.

I love the colours and posing here. If I could change one thing though, it would probably be the background colour to be an ever-so-slightly brighter dark grey.
(This is a commission for a Fully Coloured Drawing for £15. If you'd like to buy your own, click here!)

I don't know if it's really obvious here, but I had never drawn a front-facing pistol before, so about one fifth of my time spent on sketching the pose was dedicated to just drawing the barrel and handgrip.
Typically before every commission, I sketch out some possible poses until me and the seller discuss which one to choose for the final pose. Snake peering out of the box was actually the last pose I had sketched, the others like the "side profile", "creepin'" and "uwaaa sooo kawaiii!!!" were drawn first to help me get a feel for Snake's form.

This one was REALLY satisfying to finish. Greed and capitalism jokes aside, it was fun to draw something "professionally" as a """business""".
The character of Solid Snake and the Metal Gear franchise and intellectual property are all owned by KONAMI.
