Candy Highway - Symmetry Practice
I usually heavily dislike practicing symmetry in my artwork. It's nothing against the practice itself or artists that utilise it in their artwork, I only heavily dislike it in practice with my own artwork. It feels unnatural and inorganic to me, even creepy if used on a human being. Candy Highway Early Concept Draft 2
One of the early "finalised" drafts of Candy Highway's design. One of the primary goals I wanted to achieve with her design was to make it EASY and FUN to draw her in dynamic poses and exaggerative shapes. I was incredibly conflicted when deciding if her eyes should stay behind her hair or overlap her hair completely as I always liked one, then would flip back to the other. Candy Highway - Design and Skin Tone Notes
Whilst designing Candy Highway, I had a difficult time balancing the clownish and street-smart aspects of her personality into her design without leaning too much in one direction over the other.
