Candy Highway - Design and Skin Tone Notes

Whilst designing Candy Highway, I had a difficult time balancing the clownish and street-smart aspects of her personality into her design without leaning too much in one direction over the other. Below is a draft of Candy's design where her clown aesthetic takes a bigger role into her outfit.

Deciding her skin-tone was something I put into heavy consideration. She is a mix of Ghanaian and Black British, so while I always envisioned her accent STRONGLY British, her skin-tone takes after the Ghanaian side of her family.

For this skin tone, I chose dark chocolate as the specific shade of black as it continues the theming of her character and design to take colours lifted from varying candies and sweets.
