My first piece of homework for the week was to animate leg joints bending in seven frames with my lightbox. When it came to animating on paper, we were advised to use 70GSM paper and a 2B graphite pencil, as the paper's light weight made layered papers with line strokes visible

I started by using the pose-to-pose principle in animation so I can keep track of how much the knees bend and the speed they're bending at, as mentioned in the introductory video provided to us. I was very nervous at first since had not practiced with joint animation before, but keyframing poses and animating the inbetweens helped significantly.
Below is an extra piece of animation of my partner, George, making a fun face, created with the same lightbox I had used for the bending legs. For this one, I had gone out of my way to animate in one go rather than use any keyframing for the ske of practice.

I thoroughly enjoyed this homework piece! It serves as a reminder to push my fears aside and commit to practice.
